Our team for this product:Jennifer Meyer (Writer): I am a former Children's Librarian. When I'm not writing stories and poetry for all ages, I can be found splashing through puddles in Seattle with my family. I have degrees in Art History from the University of Wisconsin and Library Science from Syracuse University. I've been writing since I learned how to hold a pencil and was telling stories way before that. I love writing because it gives me a chance to be silly. And I need to be silly a lot!
Will Smith (Illustrator): As a person I look at life with an artist’s touch. I take life a bit less seriously than most and keep a youthful imagination. My work conveys my thoughts and they way I see the world around me. I look for human expression in every situation and try to re-create it in a visual image. As an illustrator my goal is to capture the audience’s imagination on paper; The feeling I get is somewhat like a child catching a butterfly for the first time!
I studied throughout Jr. High (graduate with Honors in ‘Arts & Crafts’) as well as High School both in Bountiful , UT.
Melanie Yorke (Illustrator): My love affair with painting and drawing began as a young girl when I inherited a beautiful antique watercolor set from my artistic great grandmother. I have found the challenge of illustrating children's stories a creative and delightful departure from the still life subjects and landscapes that occupy my work space. I was privileged to study drawing and painting under very talented artists for six years during my secondary education. I also studied art history for two years during that time in Bountiful, Utah. At University I focused on the physical sciences. Most recently I studied in San Fransisco and New York as a pastry chef combining my love for both science and art. I love to spend my time with either a whisk or a paintbrush in my hand. I hope that others will enjoy these illustrations as much as I enjoy bringing them to life.
Rosemarie Gillen (Illustrator- www.rosemariegillen.com): As a child I loved to draw and paint. Art is a big part of my life. I could not image a day without creating. My love of Art Museums lead me to painting reproductions of Great Masterd such as Van Gogh, Cezanne, Courbet etc... Recently I have turned my attention to creating illustrations for children books. My illustrations are simple, colorful, and capture the innocence of childhood. I am a self taught artist.
Lena Bundy (Singer, Song Writer, Performer- www.LenaBundy.com): I have more than 25 years experience in writing music as well as performing. I studied classical music in Vasteras, Sweden, and went on to study jazz in Stockholm,
and then voice in Copenhagen. I have performed all over Europe and is currently performing in Seattle and the surrounding area.
I have written and co-written many songs that are performed and recorded by other musicians. I have appeared on recordings with all the major labels and I am a skilled studio musician as well as arranger and producer.
While in Denmark, I was a choir director and voice teacher at the Glostrup and Albertslund Schools of music and the Singing Academy. At Seattle I taught violin, piano and voice at 4/4 school of music, but I am now freelance.
